来到黄山的人可能爬过黄山，去过九龙瀑和翡翠谷，住过宏村和西递，但很少人听说过竹海中的木坑村吧。连绵不断的层层山峦，漫山遍野的那份绿竟然全是竹子；竹海中畅游到山顶，竟然发现在这片绿中隐居着一座村落，没有任何商业化的影子，只有的是村民们那份原始的男耕女织和质朴。

I took the bus from Tunxi bus station to Hongcun, there were no taxi's or transport available for theuphill winding 5km journey to Mukeng Bamboo village. I asked at the ticket counter for Hocun (no English spoken so prepare for this prior to going) a really helpful employee called a friend who dropped us off and picked us up after 2 hrs)The views on the drive were stunning, if you have the time walk as there is incredible scenery. It s pretty deserted this time of year but beautiful in the snow, slippery up the steep stone stairs but not that hard a climb, again the views on the top ridge are worth the effort (extremely muddy)The Mukeng vilkage is completely untouched by tourism which is refreshing.I found the rusted up frame where the zipline used go be,no zipline I dont think its been used for a long time. The walk down through the village was really pleasant. Definately a great walk through the Bamboo, if you enjoy solitude, peace and beautiful scenery its a must visit, but get there soon before tourism changes it into a theme park.cost ¥30 at entrance.

The zip line is non operational, much to our disappointment.However, a visit to the bamboo forest and Mukeng is well worth the visit if solitude and a glimpse of rural village life is appealing to you.If your hamstrings and quads are still sore from Huangshan be prepared to climb more steps to get a bird's eye view of the bamboo.We noticed that we were the only visitors to this very photographic attraction in contrast to the crowded, megaphoned tours of Hongcun, which was only a 10 minutes drive away.

This Bamboo forest, know for being seen in the famous movie, is a nice place to visit, if you never saw a bamboo forest. Personnally I went a rainy day and it was very nice and interesting. By the way you have a cable installation to "fly in the air" (don't know the name)

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon introduced the small village of Mukeng to the world - I am told the Ninja scenes were filmed in the surrounding bamboo forest. The village is very small with only 24 households, all sharing the same surname, “Fu.” In contrast to the houses in nearby Hongcun and Xidi, the dwellings here are less decorative and are clustered on one side of a hill. Do not be put off by the elaborate entrance and ticket collection point (an inevitable by-product of China's growing tourist industry) - Mukeng is still not frequented by the bus carrying hoards and you will likely have the village to yourself. After passing through the gate head to the path on the right which takes you up to some steps leading into the bamboo forest. After passing a great viewing area which looks over the 'sea of bamboo' surrounding this village you come to an alternative, albeit expedient, entry to the village - a zip line. Only 20Rmb and a must do. (An alternative route into the village is by going left as soon as you pass the ticket collection point but you will miss the zip line - exit this way instead.)

Das Doerfchen Mukeng liegt in einem idyllischen Tal am Suedwesthang des Huangshan Gebirges im Landkreis Yixian (Yixian county/Huangshan/Anhui/China). Man erreicht es am besten mit dem Auto, wenn man die Provinzstrasse S 218 noerdlich des Qishu Sees in oestliche Richtung Hongcun verlaesst, der Landstrasse X030 ca. 3 km bis zur aussichtsreichen Siedlung Tachuan folgt und sich an der unmittelbar hinter Tachuan kommenden Strassengabelung rechts(suedlich) haelt um dann der Landstrasse 102 ca. 2 km zu folgen. Direkt hinter dem Hongcun Tunnel befindet sich die deutlich ausgeschilderte Zufahrt zum Wanderparkplatz “Mukeng Bamboo Ocean” mit Ticketschalter. Eintritt einschliesslich Parkgebuehr kosten 30,- RMB pro Person. Man erhaelt eine huebsche Eintritttskarte, auf der auch eine etwas kryptisch anmutende Wanderkarte anbgedruckt ist, die einen Rundweg durch Bambuswald um das Tal skizziert, fuer dessen reine Gehzeit man 1.5-2.0 Std. einplanen sollte. Da es nur einen gut erkennbaren Weg gibt, kann man sich kaum verlaufen. Zuerst wendet man sich dem hoelzernen Arkadenbau zu, von dem aus man einen huebschen Blick ueber einen kleinen Stausee geniessen kann, in dem sich Bambus und die bambusgruenen Talflanken sehr fotogen spiegeln. Der Einstieg in den Wanderweg befindet sich am rechten Ende der Arkade. Man folgt der Treppe und haelt sich unbedingt an der ersten Gabelung links. Von dort geht es eine Weile durch dichten Bambuswald einen gestuften Weg, von dem aus sich ein Rueckblick lohnt, steil bergan bis zu einer Lichtung. Ausruhen und Fotografieren ist dort angesagt. Von dort kann man bereits Mukeng sehen. Zur Fortsetzung der Wanderung folgt man der linken Forststrasse, die etwas unterhalb der Gipfellinie der absonnigen Talflanke verlaeuft. Von dieser Forststrasse fuehren wiederholt hangaufwaerts kurze Aufstiege zu lohnenden Aussichtspunkten, von denen weitere Wanderwege ausgehen. Kurz hinter dem Talschluss ended die Forststrasse auf einer Lichtung unmittelbar am Ortseingang und von dort hat man die Wahl, dem Weg in den oberen oder unteren Siedlungsteil von Mukeng zu folgen, dahinter vereinigen sich beide Wege wieder zu einem talauswaerts fuehrenden Pfad, der zurueck zum Ausgangspunkt und Parkplatz fuert. In Mukeng findet man Unterkunft in Hotel und B&B. Manche private Haushalte bereiten sehr kostenguenstige Hausmannskost fuer Wanderer. Die lokale Huehnersuppe vom frisch geschlachteten Huhn ist besonders schmackhaft, man kann die Zubereitungszeit von ca. 1 Std. gut mit einem Dorfrundgang ueberbruecken.Der Bambuswald (eigentlich ein “Rasen”) von Mukeng ist sicher nicht der groesste oder spektakulaerste in China. Die lokale Scenerie gewinnt jedoch sehr an Reiz, weil die bambusbewaldeten Huegel besonders steil sind und deshalb dramatischer wirken, als anderswo. Die ganze Gegend wirkt naturbelassen, obwohl sie schon lange besiedelt ist. Waehrend typischer Bambuswald eine strikte (langweilige) Monokultur darstellt, weil Bambus als Gras “Rasen” bildet, der jegliche andere Vegetation unterdrueckt, finden sich im Tal von Mukeng viele Oekonischen fuer andere, auch Bluetenpflanzen, die den Besuch besonders fuer Naturliebhaber so interessant machen.Natur-/Wildblumenliebhaber moegen besonders im Fruehling auf ihre Kosten kommen, da Ende Maerz/Anfang April unzaehlige Untergehoelze, Buesche, Raine, Hungerrasen zur kurzen Bluete kommen. Das Tal von Mukeng beherbergt ueberraschend viele verschiedene Kraeuter und Wildblumen und beeindruckt mit Ueppigkeit der Vegetation und besonderer Artenvielfalt an Fruehjahrsbluehern, u. a. Viola, Geranium, Liliaceae, Rosaceae et. al. wie man sie vergleichbar nur im Fruehjahr in Deutschland im Mittelgebirge oder im lichten Buchenwald findet. Letztes Wochenende haben wir sogar eine wilde Gloxinie in voller Bluete gefunden. Natuelich auch Bambus in jeglicher Entwicklungsstufe!Wer in der Naehe, und an Natur und lokaler Kultur interressiert ist, darf Mukeng Zhu Hai nicht versaeumen!
